Pasifika's step-by-step guide: Goldfish Bowl

You will need:
1 Sunbreeze festival
1 Goldfish bowl (note that this is not the same Goldfish bowl as the one we're making)
1-??? Super scoops
1 Goldfish set
1 Only slightly over-prized Glass sheet
1 Piece of Lauan lumber
1 Crawler calculus
1 Tiny goldfish
1 Black bubble-eye
1 Friend with decent to very tough crafting skills
1 Linkshell
1-??? Additional friends
Some other items for the craft, like a Bottle of Sieglinde putty, a Bronze ingot and a Light crystal
The list above may not be complete, so follow these instructions to aquire the required materials and resources to get your very own Goldfish bowl furnishing - in 8 easy steps!
  1. Wait for Sunbreeze festival. Once it arrives, get your Goldfish bowl and as many Super scoops as you need and get scooping. Tear your gaze off the hypnotic dancing Tarus long enough to get enough fish for the Goldfish set - but don't turn them into points! Be really smart and give them to your friend with crafting skills, so *he*(/she) can get the Goldfish set, because its ex. (It's not rare, so don't worry - your friend can get their own, too! :D Optionally, you can get the set for yourself and take the "risk" with that lvl 10 woodcraft synth, but where's the fun in that?)
  2. Check for the price of glass sheets at Jeuno AH and be horrified. D: 10 or even 20 times as much as usually, because of the festival! Check the prices again a couple of times, then forget about it untill your friend with crafting skills (who's keeping your Goldfish set) reminds you about it after a couple of months.
  3. Get moving! Keep checking the prices of some necessary items and grab them off the AH when you can! Send them to your other character for safekeeping, because your inventory is constantly overflowing anyway.
  4. Realise that there are no suitable fish for sale at the AH and you sold all you had left to NPCs when the Sunbreeze festival ended. Get your Goldfish bowl and that 1 last Super scoop out of storage (Who would throw something like that away?) and very carefully scoop up some fish - don't rip that last scoop! You can get some nice goldfish in the moats in Northern San d'Oria, for example. Ignore the stares as you fish with your scoop, they're just jealous because they've run out of Super scoops already.
  5. Buy a Lauan log and get a Wind crystal, then craft the log into a piece of Lauan lumber. Even *you* can do that much, and it gives the finished item a nice homemade touch.
  6. Change into lvl 8 WAR/WHM and go Crawler hunting with your friend for the Crawler calculus. Get killed by 3 Yagudos and a Goblin, then ask for a Raise in your linkshell because your homepoint is somewhere far away. Finish your hunt for the calculus, but be more careful this time.
  7. Check that you now have all the necessary items for the craft, and tell your friend with crafting skills that you have them ready. When they tell you they didn't mean they're in a hurry about it when they reminded you about the Goldfish set, tell them *you're* in a hurry now that you remembered it. Send them the items ASAP and have them craft the Goldfish bowl somewhere where you can see them - it's a Light crystal synth, so it's beautifully sparkly and shiny. *_*
  8. Take the finished Goldfish bowl to your Mog House, place it in your collection with all the other items that have moving/shiny parts and admire it.. the fish really move! Just a little, but they do move...

Here they swim peacefully to the first notes of "Kingyo Hanabi" ('Golfish Fireworks') sung by Ai Otsuka.

It's getting closer..!

Soon Pasifika can wear the white-and-red robes that so easily set 'real' white mages apart from the rest of the crowd..! The Holy breastplate will not be going to some dusty storage, though, I has it's uses. ;)
How can it be that the little clumsy whm who only yesterday (or maybe last year) just learned her Cure II has come so far? The answer is simple: friends.

Getting the parts of the AF armour required a good deal of work, and from hunting coffer keys with little Donthitme to vanquishing evil enemies with General Phucrabiont, Pasifika has constantly had some very good company by her side. ^_^

Talking about different kind of 'company', especially Marquise Altedour I Tavnazia has become familiar to Pasifika during this series of quests, because even the church in San d'Oria seems to be deeply involved in plotting and machinations, and so the little white mage got caught up in it, too. They didn't bother to tell her the excact details of the final outcome of the whole deal, though, but instead shooed her off with a couple of grateful words - and some pieces of the armour set! I suppose that's fair enough. x)

Getting the armour set has been a long process, but there's still some work to do before Pasifika can wear it in all it's white-magey glory. (The pics of the armour will come some time after she can war the body part, because without it, it's just not right... especially the cap. ^^;)
It souldn't take very long now, but it may be a little while... Pasifika isn't excactly party type whm, but she can occasionally pretend to be one to get a couple of levels. x)

Putting some robes on, hiding the hammer and equipping a staff, all those little details can make her look so much more like a 'regular' white mage. (Most of her party invites come from some desperate parties who haven't seen her and don't care about the fact that she doesn't have her flag up, though. I guess they should be happy with whatever thay manage to get, then... x)

The latest party experience wasn't a particularily bad one, because killing poor, innocent little colibris was relatively easy and the rdm/whm kept hogging all the work. ;) She cast haste on all the melees, refresh on anyone with mp, enfeebled the birdies and often beat Pasifika to the cure after Pecking flurry dropped someone's hp too low.

Sure it was somewhat annoying at first, because Pasifika is a bit on the slow side in parties and well aware of it, but it probably just has to be accepted that red mages can do pretty much everything, and they do it faster, too. x) All in all, she was a really lovely rdm. This party was an easy one, and the exp was good (with Empress band and Anniversary ring ;P), so maybe it's not that bad after all. (Well it is, but let's pretend it's not... there's some hard partying ahead before lvl 60!)

Trick and treat!

First the treat!

A cute little Mandragora lantern, finally in Pasifika's Mog House! ^_^ Ok, it's a little bit eerie when viewed close up, but that's probably the point... it's a Harvest Festival decoration, after all. It's shiny, sparkly and very visibly *not* made of a poor hollowed-out Mandy, so it's just perfect. <3

The Harvest Festival celebration has begun, but the sinister witches everyone was so worried about during the last Harvest Festival are now celebrated in cities all across Vana'diel... go figure.

Pasifika has joined the festival processions in Windurst and Bastok so far, but only as a monster following the witch... Why can't she be the lead actor? She'd make a perfect ghost, and she even has the right clothes. :o

Well... ok, it's better to just follow this galka ghost, although that's a nice name... He's probably not a relative to Celestial Heart, though. x)

Poor galka, he seems so lost - doesn't that just prove Bastok is a difficult city to navigate?

The trick part... the Moogles are doing a great job at that. -_-; Both the Festive Moogle and the more 'plain' Moogle at Port Bastok were all exited about the splendid gifts they had for adventurers - but not for Pasifika! 'Ah, but it looks like I have nothing for you! Sorry!' ;_;

In Bastok Markets, the Moogles were a bit odd, too. Sure they had some advice about the event, but what does it mean..? 'That's the kye, kupo!' o_O;

Run away, Mandy!

Star Sibyl has been warning everyone of great evil that could awaken any moment, and now Pasifika saw some evidence of it with her own eyes: a blodthirsty elvaan had appeared, and he was roaming Sarutabaruta, killing mandragoras. D: Poor little plantoids didn't stand a chance! Even though the mandys only came up to his knees, he reached down with his sword to cut them down... ;_;

Come on, my shiny mandragora! Fight, fight!

But even this mandragora murderer wasn't entirely heartless - see, he's weeping oven the slain mandy, regretting what he had done...

Garuda, I choose you!

Well, that's not excactly what happened... ^^;
Pasifika hasn't done much of, erm, summoning, and there's no way she could have persuaded an avatar (other than sweet, sparkly Carbuncle) to join forces with her, but she has connections... /nod /nod

So, here we see certain mysterious elvaan General telling Garuda to do like Pasifika says! x)

(Hmm... He might not want to take Pasifika along for these excursions very often, though... she just kept asking 'Can I cure you yet?' until she got permission... ^^; And then she got carried away with the cures enough to get the avatar's attention, and Garuda hits pretty hard, even if it was just for a short while. ;_; But they say all's well that ends well... :D)
