Besieged, yet again

Finally Pasifika's hard efforts are starting to pay off! She has faithfully defended poor Al Zahbi on countless occations, but all the Serpent Generals have had to say are grunts, or even insults! D: Not anymore...

Well, Gadalar is still his usual self, looking down on the little adventure/mercenary, but Najelith, Rughadjeen and Zazarg are so happy to see Pasifika! :D They have confidence in Pasifika's abilities, and Rughadjeen even went as far as declaring it's an honour to fight by Pasifika's side. ^_^ That's more like it!

It's just that... Mihli... ;_; She has been Pasifika's favourite, because she's a white mage and all, but recently Pasifika found out some surprising things. Mihli has... a past. >_>

That would be ok, Pasifika also has an embarassing past (as a total n00b), but the way Mihli handled the situation... -_- Doesn't she trust Pasifika one bit!? ,o_o,

Pasifika will still be there to defend her, but for now, Mihli's mithra fan club can keep her company while waiting for the attacks - Pasifika is warmly welcomed elsewhere.

How did Pasifika come across the intreresting - and sometimes secret - stories about the Serpent Generals' past? Well, it was all because of this one tarutaru bard, Fari-Wari the Egotistical... He had already made Pasifika do some of his work earlier - and then claimed all the glory for himself - and now he planned to use Mihli's story for purposes that were definitely not dignified enough for it! He also tried to dump his debtors on poor Pasifika, and then had her do some more of his work for him... but who could resist these tarutaru puppy eyes? There there, don't cry little taru... ^^;;

Well, no wonder the Serpent Generals want Pasifika to defend their city... when the Besieged started, there was no one to be seen! o_o Just Pasifika... and the attacking Mamool Ja army. >_> Oh, there was an abandoned flock of wyvers... if they follow Pasifika home, can she keep them?
Luckily, another of Al Zahbi's seasoned defenders also appeared, General Phucrabiont! As a deadly ninja he quickly moved from enemy to enemy, defeating them one by one. Not *all* alone, though - Pasifika was there, too! x) She was pretty efficient even by herself, and the mobs she approached often died even before she had finished casting. ^^;

And here's some more on the topic of Mihli and her, erm, past:

Warning #1: Although the material from cutscenes has been rearranged and some even altered, this contains spoilers for those who haven't completed Mihli's quest.
Warning #2: Although there's material from the cutscenes, it's all so jumbled up you probably won't know what's going on if you haven't completed Mihli's quest. ;P

Hard day's night

Pasifika has been working hard to obtain parts of the White Mage armor. Sometimes she has had the help of an alliance of up to six, plus their adventuring fellows, but mainly she's been accompanied by Phucrabiont and Donthitme.
Lots of hard work, but what if becoming a proper White Mage actually just means becoming a run-of-the-mill, thirteen-in-a-dozen healer - see, the assimilation has already begun! Just line them all up and you can't tell them apart! D: ->

But no... see the Bridal Corsage? And can you imagine the equipment change into her battle gear when she gets up? Pasifika will *never* be a normal White Mage! Erm... I mean... ^^;

Anyway, after a hard day's work, Pasifika enjoyed the evening with Phucrabiont. Here's your guide to some of the most beautiful and romantic spots in Windurst:
The airship terminal in Port Windurst holds a special meaning for Pasifika and Phucrabiont, because that's where the two met for the first time. Guided by the lighthouse, the airship glided into the harbour, and outside the teminal, Pasifika first laid her eyes on the tall dark stranger that has become so familiar now...

Dusk and dawn are beautiful almost everywhere, but the sea and the lighthouse create a particularily romantic backdrop for a relaxing moment. *_* Airships come and go, transporting busy adventurers, but this couple is in no hurry... ^_^

Another nice spot in Port Windurst is a small bridge near the shops, where you can see a little waterfall and colourful windmills in one direction, and the shop ships in the other. Also, you can see passing galkas, tarus, linkshell members... ^^;
Phu didn't have his beach gear with him, but a local elvaan had... he stopped for a moment to admire the handsome couple and compliment them - probably. Tarutarus aren't the only ones around here who speak a bit incomprehensibly. x) Phu naturally questioned the stranger's motives as he stood there staring at Pasifika, but she had no intention of leaving her General's side for some beach boy. ;)

In Windurst Waters, the radioact... I mean magically enhanced water lilies glow beautifully as soon as it starts getting darker. Pasifika and Phucrabiont sat down to admire the display of shinyness in this secluded spot, where no one wandered past them. Even the mithra who had been standing nearby and fishing non-stop had the decency to take a break as the couple seated themselves in front of the radiant flowers. *__*
Time flew by, and the vibrant colours of sunset faded to reveal the blue velvet of the night... Soon stars dotted the dark sky, but the flowers kept pulsing with light throughout the night.

Ah, you ask how Pasifika would know that? ;>_> Well... she stayed there all night... just to verify that they stayed alight, that's right... And Phucrabiont was there... to... to keep her warm. Yeah, chilly nights in Windurst at this time of the year and, unlike San 'dOrians, little Windurstian humes aren't used to such extreme temperatures... x)

Tarutaru > dragon!

After a long and interesting but unfortunately fruitless day of adventuring (which was pretty pleasant, though, in the fine company of General Phucrabiont) Pasifika was ready to call it a day, but then she just happened to go on an important mission with some people she had never met before. o_O; That's a pretty rare occurrance, but things just kept getting more and more, erm, unusual.

The mission was one of the Tavnazian ones, and it involved finding Bahamut... and Pasifika sure did find it - with a half a dozen of it's cousins!

Luckily only one dragon was irate enough to do battle, but that was enough. After a couple of unsuccesful attempts the adventurers finally managed beat the big lizard, although it didn't show them any respect then, either. >_> How rude! The decisive attack was Freeze from the party's black mage Tarutaru, and he was then dubbed 'dragon slayer taru'. That would be so much cooler title than 'Mist Melter' - also for Humes!

And yeah, Bahamut and his relatives are strictly speaking wyverns, not dragons, but any winged lizard is a dragon to Pasifika. ;) Yep, also that three-headed and definitely wingless lizard the Mamool Ja like to summon to wreack havoc on Al Zahbi is a dragon. /nod /nod

After the mission was over, Pasifika defended the poor city of Al Zahbi once more, because she just can't let the citizens of Aht Urghan down... and because she wanted to snap a soul plate of the three-headed dragon Illuyankas. To cut a long story short, something else snapped instead... ,-_-, Pasifika ran out of plates and also spent a good deal of the Besieged under the big lizard, and only crawled up minutes before the Mamool Ja forces retreated. So... you'd think she didn't get the plate, would you? Well think again! A very spirited - and kind - Tarutaru managed to get a soul plate of that monster, and he handed it to Pasifika! :O

So... it supposedly can't be turned into a Pit Monster in itself, and the ability it has can probably be learned from other, more easily available monsters as well... (hopefully...) o_o But it's the plate of the great Illuyankas! Mine! All mine! :D

Just wait little Celestial Heart, mommy will teach you your very first new ability soon... ^_^

A Moment in Vana'diel Time - player's guide

*You* are a little newbie White Mage, and these are your friends and neighbours in the fair Federation of Windurst:

Furrry is a cheerful Mithra, and she's your best friend so far. She's helping you to get to know Windurst and its residents better.

Edward is a kind Hume guy who likes to adventure and go fishing. You don't know him very well, though - but maybe you'd like to change that.

Winding Path is a Galka who's visiting Windurst from Bastok, so he doesn't know these surroundings very well yet. He seems to be a bit shy and awkward... What has brought him here so far from his home?

Hobbiru-Bobiru is a Windurstian Tarutaru, like his name suggests. He usually doesn't talk to strangers, so you'll probably need to find something in common with him before you can become good friends.

Bellatreont is an Elvaan from San d'Oria, but currently staying in Windurst on an important mission. He is easily offended by rude remarks.

Ogrelord is an easygoing Hume guy. You won't see him doing anything as tedious as crafting, but he adventures occasionally and sometimes walks around Windurst showing off any new gear he has.

Aira-Maira is a Windurstian Tarutaru girl. She's very helpful, but she's sometimes quite uncertain about her own abilities and potential.

Anissa is an enigmatic Elvaan girl: although she's from Windurst, for some reason she doesn't seem to adventure or spend time with the other Windurstians that much.

Moogle is your loyal housekeeper and also keeps you informed of special events in Vana'diel. Any messages or gifts that need to be delivered go trough Moogle, so you don't have to worry about them.

You will also encounter various NPCs while exploring Windurst, but they will naturally only play a minor role in this story.

In addition to the characters introduced above, you may - in rare instances - encounter special characters who only appear under certain circumstances:

This good-natured and lively Tarutaru will be happy to help you gain more experience. He also has a very chivalrous nature, and he may come to your rescue in a moment of need if you manage to befriend him.

This kind Elvaan will occasionally keep you company, although she's not on a suitable level to actually join your party and adventure with you. If you're her friend and she sees you in trouble with too powerful enemies, she'll be sure to help you out.

This courteous Elvaan won't join you in the battlefield, but he can take you on interesting and enchanting journeys like no one else ever has... Be prepared to take a step into the unknown, or you'll lose your chance to find out his identity!

This mysterious Tarutaru will expect respect from all who come across him.

Busy day in Aht Urghan

After a good while of very quiet life, Pasifika once more headed to the busy capital of Aht Urghan - and found more than she had expected...

At first she just wanted to drop in at the Besieged. There weren't many defenders, so it seemed like loss was quite likely, but it would be a display of support nevertheless - and a chance to practice white magic. ;) To Pasifika's surprise, the defenders were victorious - not bad at all!

After that, Pasifika wandered aroud Whitegate and promised to help a scientist with his Poroggo research, although it was a great disappointment she wasn't the one chosen to be charmed by the Poroggos. But the little Tarutaru guinea... er.... toad has nothing to fear, Pasifika is the defender of all cute tarus! ...but maybe taking friends along might be a good idea, just in case. ^^; It'll be an interesting adventure, but can wait untill another day...

Pasifika had lo~ng delayed telling Naja Salaheem about the ghost ship she had been sent to investigate, because Naja would probably be upset by the news. No point in delaying it any further, though, so she took a deep breath and stepped into the den of the lioness... Naja was quite upset alright, but over a completely different matter. D: Pasifika had been summoned to the palace! (And not Naja... but she kind of invited herself. -_-;) The two puppets were there, too, but somehow it's not quite clear who's the puppet and who's pulling the strings now... >_>

After the meeting at the palace, Pasifika recieved a wonderful reward - and instead of giving the pretty crown to Naja, Pasifika endured all the lectures, berating and threats Naja dished out. In the end... that thieving Mithra swiped it! She gave a measley imperial mytrhril piece in return... >_> Bad kitty!

Pasifika was feeling quite depressed after that encounter, but her loyal friend Donthitme cheered her up. A new attraction called The Pit had been opened in Whitegate and they offered the chance to take 'pictures' of mobs and bring them in to fight each other.

Donthitme accompanied Pasifika to Purgonorgo Isle, where she snapped a pretty picture of her favourite mob. She named her new little friend Celestial Heart and agreed to a friendly fight with Donthitme's Radiant Engel - because Donthitme's 'pet' had a bit lower level and so it couldn't hurt little Celestial Heart too badly. x) That was pretty exciting, and a lot of fun. :D
